A leading robotic arm manufacturer needed a single connector supplier to address all four functional layers of their 6-axis robotic arm: high-current base power delivery (20A+), vibration-resistant joint interfaces, high-precision encoder signal paths, and micro connectors for the confined end-effector space. Their existing multi-vendor approach caused compatibility issues, supply chain complexity and inconsistent quality across connector layers

We designed a four-layer connectivity architecture using our complete product portfolio: Base & Power Module — DP21/DP29 series 2-3 pin high-current connectors with low contact impedance and IP68 threaded locking for stable power delivery under continuous vibration. C3030 wire-to-wire connectors for chassis sensor signal input. Joint Drive Module — M12 waterproof connectors (IP67, anti-vibration) for joint interfaces, RJ45 8P8C double-head cables for EtherCAT multi-axis synchronization. Custom flexible joint harnesses with anti-fatigue terminals rated for millions of flex cycles. Signal Acquisition Module — C4140 wire-to-board connectors supporting 100Mbps+ differential signal for encoder feedback, USB3.0 connectors for machine vision cameras at joint positions. End-Effector — A1257 1.25mm pitch micro connectors for gripper/tool signals in confined spaces.

Single-source supply chain reduced procurement complexity by 60% and eliminated inter-vendor compatibility issues. Custom flexible joint harnesses achieved 2M+ flex cycle life, exceeding the 1M cycle requirement. DP21 base power connectors maintained <5mΩ contact resistance after 12 months of continuous operation. End-to-end solution reduced robot assembly time by 35% through standardized connector interfaces. The customer scaled from 40-unit R&D batch to 2,000+ units/month production with consistent connector quality.
